It’s that time of year, again! Engagement season, ha, ha!
The season is upon us! As soon as we start to smell those holiday smells — peppermint, evergreen, gingerbread, turkey, and pumpkin pie (well — and birthday cake for DJ AJ9) — and hear those holiday carols, we know that it can’t be long before the phone starts ringing off the hook with new brides and grooms looking for disc jockeys for their upcoming weddings!
This happens for two reasons. First, the holidays bring so many of us home to share special times with family we’ve been missing, it’s no surprise that so many engagements — more than any other time of year — happen between Thanksgiving and New Year’s. Also, the turning of that page in the calendar between December and January kick starts some who have been procrastinating (I’m guilty) feeling that there was plenty of time to plan before the coming summer into realizing that 2011 isn’t some amorphous future concept, anymore — it’s happening NOW, and they’d better get on those planning to-dos that were neglected over the vacation.
To celebrate this year, we’ve decided to host a fun little contest! Do you have a holiday engagement story you’d like to share? Send it over to DJ AJ9 by January 31, 2011, and we’ll announce the winner (and share the winning story) on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2011! The winning story’s couple will receive one of our highly-coveted “Something Blue” prize packs, complete with a pair of diamond sapphire earrings, a Something New Entertainment gift certificate, and lots of other blue goodies! Rest assured, though, that no one will walk away empty-handed; all participants will receive a lucky silver sixpence and a Something New Bride tee shirt!
To submit your story, send an e-mail to aj9@SomethingNewEntertainment.com with the subject line “Holiday Engagement Story” by Monday, January 31, 2011 at 11:59 pm Eastern. Don’t forget to include your engagement date, wedding date, phone number, and mailing address (for your goodies!).
This contest is open to any of our prospective clients who have a wedding date scheduled with a Northeast Ohio venue in 2011 or 2012. Please, limit your entries to one per couple.
However you choose to celebrate this season, we hope that it is happy and safe!
