Produced by a number of fantastic Akron- and Cleveland-area wedding professionals, including wonderful food by Around DownTown Catering, beautiful floral decor by Breathtakers Event Planning, stunning linens by L’Nique Linen Rental, chic specialty seating by Be Seated,  hosted at Temple Emanu El in Orange Village, and — of course — with fabulous uplighting and music by Something New Entertainment’s own DJ AJ9 and DJ Justin, the event included featured speakers Rabbi Steve Denker (Rabbi, Temple Emanu El), Renee Higer (Executive Director, Temple Emanu El), and Eileen Benson (Event Planner, Bridal Consultaing by Eileen).

The trio discussed Jewish wedding customs and traditions, tips and tricks for ensuring a smooth day for the bride and groom, and even holding a mock wedding ceremony for the benefit of Northeast Ohio Wedding Professionals with varying levels of experience with Jewish weddings.

Contrasting lightscapes created for the multiple areas by Something New Entertainment

 .

To “set the scene,” Something New Entertainment, Breathtakers Event Planning, Be Seated, and L’Nique dressed the room up with several design vignettes fit for an elegant wedding reception!  DJ AJ9 chose fuchsia pink, purple, and amber yellow uplighting to accent the contrasting decor in three areas of the Temple Emanu El Social Hall, as well as amber and lavender side lighting in the sanctuary to accent the beautiful Cuppah decorate by Breathtakers.

The area around the “stage” for the speakers was accented with warm purple uplights to compliment the red and aubergine hues in some of the linens around what is often the dance floor area of the Temple Emanu El Social Hall.

DJ AJ9 chose a golden amber yellow lighting to highlight the warm, bright hues in this colorful tablecloth with lime green napkins, glossy black chargers, and multi-colored flowers.  The uplighting design complimented the variety of colors without muting them, as darker colors of light would have, still allowing them to appear vibrant while creating an intimate, cozy atmosphere in this section of the room.

On the other side of the ballroom (in the background of the photo, above), DJ AJ9 chose warm fuchsia pink uplighting to compliment the deeper, muted colors of the linens and decor located in that area of Temple Emanu El’s Social Hall.

In the rear of the room, on either side of the dance floor, a cooler, deeper, aubergine accented the deeper-colored linens and decor, creating an intimate, mysterious ambiance.
