The highest mission of Something New Entertainment’s staff of DJs, MCs, and Lighting Designers is to significantly improve the preparation and day-of experience of our bridal clients, particularly through careful planning and design.  Your wedding day is so special, and we want to do whatever we can to make this joyful time a stress-free time.

.

A big part of that mission is continuing education for our staff, and — yes — even our founders!   It is our belief that no matter how experienced we become, our skills can always be improved through practice, education, or just seeing things from a new perspective.

.

This past week, Anna-Jeannine “DJ AJ9” Herman and DJ Justin Herman attended one of the MarBecca Method‘s Master of Ceremonies Workshops in Zanesville, Ohio.  This workshop was not originally on their multi-national tour schedule, but DJ AJ9, herself, requested an addition to their plans and then rallied to fill the workshop space to make it worth the tour’s stop along the way!

The MarBecca Method was created by Rebecca and Mark Ferrell who have dedicated their lives to improving the professionalism and personalization of high-quality mobile entertainers around the country and around the globe.  They have positively impacted the DJ industry by constantly encouraging entertainers to work harder, dig deeper, and perform better, allowing clients to expect more from their entertainment.

.

The workshops’ attendance limits are deliberately structured to be small enough to give each participant a rich experience including enough in-the-hot-seat performance time to get direct feedback from their mentors and plenty of high-energy interaction with their peers, as well.

Obviously, being fellow husband-and-wife teams certainly didn’t hurt helping the two couples hit it off from the get-go, but it’s their shared underlying commitment to carefully-considered client experiences that really made this collaboration sing.

.

“This workshop was a surprising experience for me,” said DJ AJ9.  “Even being as huge of a supporter of continuing education as I am, I was stunned how an intensive workshop like this could change my perspective on a few important parts of my own performance.  This is an experience that we will definitely be sharing with the entire staff.”

DJ Justin agreed: “Mark and Rebecca are truly an inspiration to the industry.  Their ‘it’s all about love’ philosophy is exactly what we enjoy most about our work, and it’s exactly what our industry needs to revitalize client experiences!”

.

DJ Justin also hinted about some exciting changes, ahead, for Something New Entertainment: “I am excited about the improvements we have planned as a result of this soul-searching experience we had at the workshop!  It’s definitely going to shake things up!”

.
“We can’t wait to see Mark and Rebecca, again, and we hope to attend more of their workshops in the future!” said DJ AJ9.

.

And, it seems, the Ferrells are looking forward to that, as well “Not many women pass through our workshops… we say BRAVO to Anna-Jeannine Herman for making the Bronze Master of Ceremonies workshop in Zanesville, OH a bit brighter,” said Rebecca Ferrell (via Facebook).
