to those of you who visited us at Chromatic, A Nuptial Soiree presented by Totally Cooked Catering at Happy Days Lodge on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.

MCed by our own Justin and Anna-Jeannine “DJ AJ9” Herman, W.E.D.® with a distinctive sound and lighting design by Something Entertainment, this was a very cool event!  For those of you who couldn’t make it: here’s a quick recap of what you missed:

The Something New Entertainment lightscape and sound design for Totally Cooked Catering’s Chromatic nuptial soiree was inspired by the bright colors and lively motifs included in the table vignettes — an eclectic collection of saturate hues like pinks, blues, greens, and golds with a variety of themes like antique china, whimsical pinwheels, elegant gold gilding, felt flowers, and bold hot air balloons!

To coordinate with the colorful room, Anna-Jeannine created an ombre lighting effect — blending from fuchsia on the pillars nearest to the door to match the pinks and purples of the table closest to the entryway to a variated amber on the draped curtain — a backdrop that subtly complimented the warm tones throughout all of the tables.  Between them, shades of red, orange, yellow, as well as a generous golden wash light over the gold gilded table to bring out all its sparkle, and a globe light accent twisted right down the middle of the table for a bit of intrigue!

The Something New Entertainment booth, featuring our handcrafted sign (read about the construction process, here) was situated in Happy Days Lodge’s Great Room’s little fireplace nook, off to the right of the house.

.

Inside the Something New Entertainment booth, Anna-Jeannine and Justin entertained guests beside a welcoming faux fire that “warmed” the hearth in the fireside lounge area — the perfect choice to bring ambiance to this rustic space without the smoke during an already balmy day.

.

We developed this effect for the Hitched Wedding‘s lighting design, last year.  Our bride mentioned wishing she could have a fire, but the 90+ degree weather made a “real” fire impractical, so we used our smarts to grant her wish.  It’s been a popular request for summertime brides, ever since, and it was such a nice addition to our little fireside chit-chat area!  Here’s a bigger picture:

Like the lighting design, the music design reflected the event’s energetic and colorful vibe.

Something New entertained guests with an eclectic mix a peppy mix of favorite requests from Happy Days Lodge Brides and Grooms which provided the upbeat musical atmosphere for the breakfast-themed event, featuring gourmet coffee, mini-quiches, bite-sized chicken-and-waffles, an amazing bacon bar, and Brewnuts beer doughnuts.

Not only did we get to work with several of the wedding professionals featured on our preferred list of Vendors We Adore, but we also got to see several folks who were chosen for previous year’s or this year’s Handpicked | a different kind of bridal event (this year’s Chromatic presenter list included Totally Cooked Catering, Happy Days Lodge, Miller’s Party Rentals, Nick Edmundson Imaging, Team Bride Apparel, China Cupboard, Suite Elegance, Sitting Pretty Linens, and Adam Pate, the Caricature Artist, just to name a few of the greater Akron area vendors represented).
